Request from Joe

When I was talking to Joe on the phone, he said he could use some music. So, all of you creative people like that out there that would like to make some CD's for him have some fun! He said music from the 70's on to todays music. He likes country, but put whatever you want and he will listen to what he likes.

Our friend Jess also reminded me that a while back Joe said he would want "Chicken in a biscut" crackers. Also twizzlers, puzzle books, cards, maybe newspapers, magazines (sports of course) Just things that will keep him busy or entertained lol.

And good ol snail mail letters are awesome too.

He is keeping busy with weird sleeping hours and crazy things like that. I asked him today if it is weird being over there. He says a little but he is just trying to stay busy so he doesnt think of home. He is trying to get internet figured out yet and I forgot to send him his camera. Crud, next mailing!!

Hope all is well with everyone.

A friend of mine, whos husband is in the Army and is currently overseas, had this as her status yesterday. I loved it, so I'm sharing it with you (I hope she doesn't mind!)

"feels like throwing a tantrum. It's like I've been put on time out. I just want my hubby to be home...NOW! [dramatic crying, screaming, and rolling on the floor]"

I totally understand how she feels. Cause it is sooooo true. I feel like doing that somedays, and more frequently this week. Ugg. Imagine how our 4 year old feels if I feel like this. Poor child. She is doing great though! I can not WAIT to see her this weekend. I'm so thankful for the extra time I get to have with her also. I'm so happy since it has been since the 4th of July weekend since I have seen her. I miss that kid! Can't wait for the many laughs this weekend, and the excitement as we finally will have all 5 grandkids together! Many pictures to come!

Update on the the little one!

Hello all.
Welcome to the world miss Kaylene Ebigal.

Its upside down. But here is the little peanut. All 1 lb 13 1/2 oz of her.
I have yet to go see her and mommy. Too busy today for them with tests etc. The latest I know is that she is breathing on her own. More hurdles to come but she is one tough cookie. Just like her momma. Oh, and her head is the size of a Tennis ball. Momma is doing good also.

Keep on prayin for her!

babies

This is one of the many reasons why Joe and I chose not to have a baby while he is gone.

I have a huge prayer request for all who read. A good friend of mine here in Alex just had a baby today. Exciting times none the less, but she was only 27 weeks along. The baby weighed a whopping 1 lb 13 oz. and was 13 inches long. Such a little thing.  She had been in the hospital for other reasons, and this was the lastest diagnosis. Oh, and ITS A GIRL!!! I have no name yet though, I will tomorrow!

This got me thinking, what if Joe and I would have gotten preggo before he had left. I'm not sure I could have gone through something like this with him half way across the world. Quite frankly, he would have probably been worse that I would have been. Ugg, You never know. So many emotions.

I have a butt load of guilt today. I missed two phone calls from Joe. One of them I got to the phone just as it went to voicemail. all because I was stinking taking a nap. I hate not being able to call him right back. I feel selfish. Then I missed another one cause I went to work early....ugg. I so wanna hear his voice right now.

oh and P.S. Cuddyer pitched for the Twins tonight. hahah This makes me laugh. Way to go twins!!! lol good grief. Its hard to watch them.

So, Prayers to Angela and baby girl.
Hug your children and loved ones and thell them you love them.

Safe

Got a phone call from Joe Saturday afternoon. They made it to Kuwait safe and sound. He is doing well, just really tired. I can totally tell by his voice. I don't blame him. 16 hours on a plane, not much sleep, and an eight hour time difference, I'd be tired also.
So he is getting settled and getting used to his routine and such.
I'll be posting on here updates on how he is doing. Just know that my details will be very vague. Only for his and the rest of the soldier's safety. I will post if he thinks of anything that he may need or ideas of things that could be sent over.

Thanks again for all the prayers and support. It is a challenging time, but again one that makes me so proud to call Joe my husband!

the dells

So Joe and I spent some time at the dells. Only a day, but it was fun to drive around and see everything. We did a couple different things, no water parks though..it really looked like rain, and it did. So next summer we are going back! At least that is the plan!

One thing we did was go to "Top Secret". A white house themed haunted house type thing. It was interesting, but not really scary, you could totally tell when something was going to happen..nothing like good ol hydrolic sounds....cheezy.

It was cool though. what made it better was the Asian family infront of us. They were scared out of their minds!! It was crazy funny. The 12ish year old was trying to run backward and yelling for a way to get out. The dad was even scared. It was great.

Another thing we did was go on a duck boat ride. I highly recommend this. It was a great time. Well worth the 50 bucks for the two of us. Here are some pictures.

Do you see the Piano in the above photo? Cool how these rocks fall and look like things.
Can you see the head of an eagle or hawk? at a certain angle you can see wings also.
I really need to learn how to take pictures like this..I always look hidious.
Cool waterfall/dam thing.

I could have spent a few days at the dells. Hense why we are going back! And first stop is Noah's Ark? Anyone wanna come with?

LaCrosse

I have been asked..why did you stay in LaCrosse?
The answer: well just because. And it was the closest "big" town to where Joe had to be. We wanted to spend the least amount in the car if we could. So. What is in LaCrosse?

Well, we did spend most of our time walking down town hitting up different establishments etc. First stop, Hooters! Lol haha (only cause our hotel card said we could get a free appitizer!) hehe.

OVer the course of the four days we hit up a handful of different bars. I'll share our favorites!
Cheap Shots. Yes a shot bar. Every shot was 2 bucks. (I"m sounding like an alchy here but I'm not) I throughly enjoyed this place and the bartender Jamie was EXCELLENT. We had a great time talking to her and sitting in the AC (it was darn hot outside). I was also introduced to my new favorite after meal drink. I'll explain in a different post.

Also that day we walked to the Dublin Square Irish Pub bar. We were hungry. And let me tell you, this place had the BEST burger that I have had in a long time. I could have ate like three of them. I highly recommend it and it was only 7 bucks. Not bad!! And the side salad I got was pretty big also. I didn't get a picture, cause I was too busy drooling over my burger!

Another bar they had there, but we didn't go in was called the Library.
This part made me laugh. Look at the saying under the bar''s name: "If mom calls, tell her I'm at the Library!" Hehe..made my day.

And the last establishment I would highly recommend was the Steak House Buffet. I don't typically like going to buffets cause I eat way to much and end up getting sick..but we wanted a real meal and not just pizza or crap. For 10 bucks each, we could have all the 5 oz steaks we wanted...HEAVEN! So, we both ate 2, along with all the mashed taters and hashbrows, tacos, etc. Oh man it was great..but of course we regretted it cause we were sooo uncomfortable. I didn't even get ice cream cause I was too full!

Just a couple spots we enjoyed. oh and look at this:

A walk up Subway. Hehe..

So much to say.

Wow. What an AMAZING last five days I have had. I have so much to blog about and if I did it all at once you would be here FOREVER reading. So, I'll try to break it down.

The best part of this trip was spending quality time with my husband. It was amazing. I really didn't realize how much I missed him! I was nothing but smiles the whole time.

Kind of a fake smile on Joe's part lol. Just kidding! The sun was bright!

It was hard saying good bye again and yes of course I cried. After spending 4 full days with him doing what ever we (well mostly I cause he said so) wanted to do it was hard to think that I wouldn't see him again for probably 6+ months. I was spoiled with hugs, kisses, cuddles, dates, etc and everything else that I wont have for a while. But, nothing makes me more proud than knowing my soldier is doing what he loves over there, protecting his country and family that he loves.

So, Like my facebook status said this morning, I have never been so proud or so in love with my hero than I am today.
I love you baby! See you soon!
Stay tuned for more about the vacay soon!

The "family friendly" lake experience

Some may find this outrageous, some may find it completely disgusting, some may find it highly inappropriate, but I find it absolutely HILARIOUS!

My cousin, aunt and I decided to beat the heat on Saturday evening and headed out to the lake to float on our floaties. When we got there we noticed the group of "young men" haha and their abundance of coolers and beverages of choice. Immediately, I knew we had pure entertainment for our floating experience.

It started off with watching the "boys" attempt to go tubing. The funny part there was watching them all get ON the tube. Now I really shouldn't say anything cause I'm sure I wouldn't be any better. I know I wouldn't but, it was entertaining. And foresurely we were laughing WITH them, not AT them. So they would get on, take off and sooner or later would flip off etc. oh and the occational waves that were created were enjoyable also.

While some were tubing and some were throwing a football around, we notice one boy and his girlyfriend in the water getting kinda close. Didn't think anything of it. Young love....but then...they started getting VERY close. Little red flags going off..and the three of us looking at eachother with the.."do ya see that over there" look. Well after further obervation (not staring by the way. Because that would be rude,) we came to the conclusion that they were doing the dirty deed. At this point we are laughing out butts off. Not knowing what to do or say...we slighlty may have made fun of them.

All of a sudden, one of the other boys on shore definitely noticed the same thing we did, and decided to throw the football at them. The lucky lady saw it coming and ducked and therefore made the football smack the guy in the head...again, HILARIOUS. Everyone at the lake was laughing at this point. But what does they guy do...

He lifts is pants out of the water...(confirms our suspicions) and says thanks for helping him find his pants!! BBABHAHAHAHAHHA
So I start to wonder...what the heck was he going to do? Stay in the lake til everyone got out? Have his lady get him a towel? lol, or just walk up stark naked? hahahah Oh the funny things that could have happened.

Anywho, it may of been a "ya had to be there" story but it was funny!!

Oh, and we now refer to this moment as the "Porno at the Lake".

hehe. Anyone wanna go to the lake?

8 days

I'm getting very excited for next week. I know its only for 4 days, but, it will be a very good 4 days. We have a hotel  booked and will be going to the dells for 1 of the days. I'm just glad we get to go on a vacation. Though it will be bittersweet.

Today was a lazy day. Not going to lie, I'm still in my jammies. I spend my day filling out job apps, cross-stitching, doing dishes, cleaning and just being plum lazy. Gotta have those days every once in a while.

Not much is new here. I hope everyone had an excellet 4th of July. I ended my weekend with a long shift at work (which was surprising) and got off just in time to run over to Arrowwood and catch the fireworks and brave the traffic on the way home...glad I have patience!

Oh. On a funny note. Since I couldn't sleep well last night and was up at 4:30 cause of the rain pelting our air-conditioner I decided to watch  the news. They were interviewing the new president at the U of M and I couldn't help but laugh at Goldie behind him while he was talking. He was scratching his nose, mocking the President while he was talking, gave the drum major who was standing next to him a wet willie. The camera man even panned in on the president so it cut goldie out of the picture. It was darn funny though. I give credit to the Drum major, he never cracked a smile. Oh well, maybe it was cause I was so tired! Who knows. Also brings back memories of the last day of school when I put on the tiger mascot outfit for the elementary. Talk about sweating! But the children LOVED it. Well the younger ones, the 4th graders tried to take my  head off...hahaha.

Happy Tuesday!

Beautiful day with a beautiful girl!

Abby and I had a great weekend. It was nice to finally just stay home for a chance.
We went on a walk today to the duck pond/park today. Known to some as "Goose "poop" Park" (I'll keep it G rated today! Finally a day thats not ungodly hot. At least I have my air conditioner now when those days happen!
Here are some pics:

Have a great rest of the 4th of July weekend everyone!
